MR A's ADDRESS
The inauguration of annual inter-clubs Open Amateur Boxing Tournament for London Mayor’s Cup to the Best Boxer, held on 21st November 2008, was a great triumph.
This event initiated by us was not designed only to raise the profile of Amateur Boxing, but most importantly to praise the many young people who choose the sport to transform their negative energy into positive accomplishments. Their dedication, enthusiasm and courage deserve to be showcased in order to encourage others.
We are, therefore, totally determined to make this Tournament the most competitive Amateur Boxing event in London. Mr Boris Johnson, the London Mayor who presented the Cup last year has agreed to attend this year on 20th November 2009, at Porchester Hall, London W2.
Congratulations to Amir Khan, former Olympics Amateur Boxing Silver Medallist now a professional W.B.A. Champion. Certainly the other Olympians and former Amateur stars, Gold Medallist James DeGale, Amateur World Chapion Frankie Gavin and Billy Joe Saunders are on their way to achieve high honours as well.
BE INSPIRED!
All Stars Boxing Club was established in 1974 to provide a positive sense of direction to young people. It is run by voluntary workers on a very low budget. The workers only get satisfaction at the boxers success and over the years there have been many.
